No forced dispatch
You see the rate, the lane and the broker before anything is booked. You approve every load. That is not a policy we relax for cross-border freight.
United States & Canada
One desk for Canadian domestic freight and US–Canada cross-border lanes — staffed 24/7, working under your authority, with the customs paperwork tracked rather than remembered.
The short answer
Yes. MSM Transit dispatches Canadian carriers on domestic lanes and US–Canada cross-border freight, across all ten provinces and all 48 states. We work under your operating authority — we are not a carrier and not a broker — on a percentage of gross, with no forced dispatch and no long-term contract.
Who we dispatch: Dry Van, Reefer, Flatbed, Step Deck, Conestoga, Power Only, Hotshot, Box Truck, RGN / Lowboy and Heavy Haul — every rig longer than 26 ft, new authorities included. Not a fit: sprinter vans, cargo vans and 16 ft box trucks.
What changes at the border
A crossing goes wrong for administrative reasons almost every time — a manifest filed late, a commodity code that does not match, a broker who assumed someone else was filing. That is desk work, and it is the desk's job.
Customs requirements change. We track them, but verify current rules with CBP and the CBSA — including ours.

The same commitments, either side of the border
The border changes the paperwork. It does not change how we work.

Every North American time zone, including Newfoundland. Nights, weekends and holidays, at no extra rate.
On booked loads only. No setup fee, no monthly minimum, and nothing owed for a week the truck does not run.
Most Canadian carriers start with truck dispatch and add billing & invoicing once the paperwork volume shows up. Running reefer dispatch or flatbed dispatch across the border adds its own screening, which the desk handles.
Questions
Yes. The desk works Canadian domestic lanes and cross-border US–Canada freight. As in the US, we operate under your authority — we are not a carrier and not a broker, so the operating authority, insurance and customs bonds remain yours.
Yes, and it is worth confirming before you take the load rather than at the border. Cross-border freight needs electronic manifests filed in advance — ACE into the US, ACI into Canada — plus the correct customs paperwork for the commodity. Many carriers also carry a customs bond. Requirements change, so verify current rules with CBP and CBSA directly.
The desk is staffed 24/7/365, which covers every North American time zone including Newfoundland. A driver held at a crossing at 2am gets a person, not voicemail.
The fee is a percentage of gross on booked loads, so it follows whatever currency the load pays in. We will set that out in writing on the first call along with everything else.
All ten provinces. As in the US, the honest measure is not coverage but reload density — how quickly we can put you back under a load in the market you just delivered into, which is what lane planning is actually for.
